Features

  • Single Static IP address
  • Automatic DNS service offering a fixed Internet Domain Name that maps to your assigned Static IP address - e.g. 'myusername.cust.internode.on.net' (more info)
  • Free soho.on.net domain name to link to your own server. (choose your own subdomain name e.g. 'mycompany.soho.on.net' - subject to approval by Internode).
  • DNS PTR record (reverse lookup) can be changed to meet your needs
  • High performance, 128 kbits/second (16kbytes/sec) shaping applied (to downloads only) over the specified download quota (SOHO Shaping)
  • If your download quota is exceeded, shaping of download traffic is applied at 128 kbits/second. There is a maximum 'shaped excess' allowance of 3 gigabytes - additional access constraints may be applied beyond this amount.
  • These plans are 'Layer 2' services using the PPP protocol via PPPoE or PPPoA to connect.
  • Internode allows its customers to run their services with no network ports blocked. By default we do protect our customers (on layer 2 plans only) by filtering some ports which are generally used to propogate network worms and attacks. You are welcome to disable that protection via an online web page if you wish to.
  • Always-available connection - Connect anytime, no busy signals, dedicated connection to the Internet.
  • Use your phone concurrently - Telephone line can place and receive calls concurrently - no second line needed!
  • All Operating Systems Welcome - If it supports PPPoE, you're welcome to use it. Mac, Linux, PC/Windows, whatever. We don't discriminate.
  • Bring your own ADSL device - Choose the device that suits your needs - bring your own or buy one from us at a competitive rate - see our pricelist for details.
  • Use anytime - No Peak/Offpeak time limitations on when you can use your service [1]
  • No regional surcharge - Same access prices for any area we cover, metro or regional.
  • No upload surcharge - All upload-direction data is free of charge [2]
  • Casual dialup account with 10 hours included free then $1 per hour pay-as-you-go.
  • Optional $10/month extra for 300 hours of dialup account access per month.
  • Global roaming facility for dialup and WiFi access via iPass (separate usage charges apply - click here for details).
  • Up to four additional mailboxes (total of 5 including primary account) included.
  • 50 MB Webspace included (for personal non-commercial use only).
  • All prices quoted include GST and are subject to change without notice.
  • Now includes support for ADSL2+ Annex M - Supports upstream speeds of up to 2500kbit/sec.

[1] Some ADSL providers provide different usage allocations for different time bands. We let you use your connection whenever you want without penalty.

[2] Some other ADSL service providers assess and charge for both upload and download data on your ADSL connection. This means that applications which send and receive data concurrently (such as online games) are effectively double-charged. Internode assesses usage only in the 'download' (Internet-to-customer) direction, and traffic returned from the customer to the Internet is FREE.

Notes

1. Automatic ADSL Service Cancellations:

Please be aware that your Internode ADSL service will be automatically cancelled by Telstra and a new ADSL service will need to be ordered by you (including a new Activation fee):

  • When your Telephone account is cancelled.
  • When you shift location (even if taking the same number with you). (please see our relocation form)
  • If you order an ADSL-incompatible product on the line ADSL is delivered on. We strongly advise that you contact our Sales department to discuss any pending changes to your phone service prior to making those changes.

2. Service Activation

ADSL services are normally provisioned within 7-10 business days and Activated by Internode no later that 7 days thereafter at which time Internode will commence billing the customer.

3. Billing:

Internode recommend a monthly billing arrangement, as any requested changes to your account (eg speed or data change) is actioned by our system at the start of the next billing period. Therefore paying on a monthly basis - Credit Card or Direct Debit - means you are able to make changes to your service on a monthly basis, whereas if you are being invoiced quarterly, any changes will occur at the start of the next quarter.

  • Credit Card surcharge : Payments via Visa or Mastercard incur a $0.99 surcharge per transaction; and payments via American Express or Diners Club incur a surcharge of 2.5% of the transaction value.
  • There are no surcharges for Direct Debit payments (these can be monthly or quarterly).
  • Similarly, there are no surcharges for any of the quarterly payments options - BPay, Direct Credit, Cheque, Money Order, Cash or EFTPOS.
  • Please note that the first monthly or quarterly service charge, plus activation fee and any hardware charges, must be paid in full before Internode allow access to your service.
  • Full details on our payment options are available at http://www.internode.on.net/payments/

4. Notification:

Tax invoices, Internode Bulletins and automated data usage warning messages are sent to your Internode email address. Please refer to the configuration sheet (supplied when your service is activated) for details of your Internode email address. Posting of paper invoices is available but discouraged for environmental reasons, and if requested will attract a $1.50 surcharge per invoice.
