Internode sponsors telecoms thinkfest
Internode is the Platinum sponsor for ATNAC 2008 (the Australasian Telecommunications Networks and Applications Conference 2008), which is running in Adelaide for the first time, at the National Wine Centre, from December 7-10.
Co-organised by the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia's Institute of Telecommunications Research, ATNAC 2008 has the theme, Information Networking - Enhancing Change in the Global Community. The four-day event aims to emphasise the role that telecommunications can, and should, play in building a better world.
ATNAC 2008 is timely because tenders for the Australian Government's National Broadband Network closed last week. The conference includes a Broadband Day on Monday, December 8, where delegates can hear from and meet industry leaders and analysts.
Internode managing director Simon Hackett said the sponsorship was part of Internode's investment in the progress of the telecommunications industry in Australia. "A lot of the solutions to Australia's telecommunications challenges are already available, but not implemented," he said.
"Internode believes specialist public events like ATNAC 2008 provide a great opportunity to bring together some of the best thinkers and most activist doers in the industry to thrash out the best way forward."
